About the Position: Manages several military personnel action programs for an installation: Awards, Promotions, Schools, Assignments, Retirements and Separations, Recruitment and Retention, and Special Actions. This position is located with the Reserve Personnel Management Directorate within the Human Resources Command (HRC).

Duties

Serve as a first level supervisor over an organization responsible for the provision of a segment of USAR military personnel actions and service programs. Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust short term priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work. Ensure that all procedural and administrative tasks are performed for the timely and correct completion of actions, individually or by other staff members. Provide guidance, interpretations, training and/or briefings on current and proposed policies for assigned military personnel action programs to a wide variety of individuals, managers, and key officials Works supervised involves a wide variety of technical and administrative tasks impacting commissioned and warrant officers, enlisted personnel, military retirees, veterans and their family members.

Requirements

  • Applicant will be required to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.background investigation.
  • Incumbent must obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

Education

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree

OR

3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

OR

LL.M., if related
