About the Position: Serve as the Military Personnel Technician in support of a personnel actions and services team consisting of a specific group or specialty branch. Position is located at Human Resources Command (HRC), Reserve Personnel Management Directorate-Health Services Division at Fort Knox, Kentucky.
Duties
Supports team objectives and commits to teamwork by sharing knowledge and skills with others, assisting team members and responding constructively to views expressed by others.
Initiates, reviews, or assists in completion of personnel actions in a wide variety of functional areas.
Incumbent demonstrates courtesy, tact and good judgment to provide effective customer service and assistance to the managed population, supported commands and agencies, and internal offices within the organization.
Maintains suspense's and logs using various automated or manual systems.
Maximizes the resources and authority of the position to assist the soldier through oral and written communication.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Secret security clearance.

Specialized experience is defined as: Experience performing a wide variety of administrative functions to support a personnel actions and services team consisting of a specific group or specialty branch in support of soldiers in the Army Reserves, Retirees, Veterans, and their family members. Duties require a general familiarity with the laws, rules, regulations, policies, procedures and precedents related to the Army Reserve personnel actions and services.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for required experience in order to qualify. For this position, you must meet the qualification requirements using experience alone. Substitution of education for experience is NOT permitted.
