Duties

Review transition/pre-separation briefings given by subordinates to ensure accuracy. Explain work requirements, methods and procedures to ensure employee understanding. Research military personnel issues to provide recommendations for actions requiring signature by the installation commander. Review military personnel documents for accuracy and completeness. Provide advice on all aspects of the military human resource transition center programs to service members. Review updated guidance and regulations regarding soldier separations/retirements to determine the impact on current methods and operations. Inform employees about policies, procedures, implementation and practices of management related to the military transition Center. Plan work schedules and sequence of operations to assure an even flow/distribution of the work.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position may require travel up to 5% of the time.
  • This position may require the completion of a 1 year supervisory probationary period
  • Incumbent must obtain and maintain a Tier3(Secret) Security Clearance

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Demonstrated experience 1;)Reviewing and validating personnel actions related to military retirement and separations; 2;) Researching Military human resource issues and problems to develop solutions that adhere to guidance and regulations, and 3;)Assisting with the development of military human resource trainings and briefing for deliver to senior personnel. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business administration, Human Resource Management, Etc. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementManaging Human ResourcesTechnical CompetenceWritten Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
