Duties

Serves as a project leader supporting the DFAS Robotic Process Automation (RPA) program within Enterprise Solutions and Standards Emerging Capabilities Data Analytics and Process Automation team. Consults with stakeholders at strategic senior leader, management and tactical levels including RPA teams, Leveraging Technology developers and Project Managers, and directly with functional areas exploring or utilizing RPA Bots in their mission. Position requires an understanding of DFAS business and operational processes to evaluate and provide recommendations of process automation opportunities. Collaborate across RPA community to identify and implement best practices for lifecycle of the Bot program. Identify best practices in Bot program from idea evaluation, requirements documentation, prioritization, approach to development, testing, deployment, maintenance, troubleshooting, enhancement and retirement of deployed automations. Support RPA program manager with oversight of the RPA program, to include creating sustainable, standardized, documented procedures to handle continued growth of the program and incorporate DFAS Strategic priorities. Leads discussions with operational users and representatives to develop, document, communicate, and review functional requirements and test plans for robotic process automation software application development.

  • Obtain/Maintain Financial Management Certification
  • Obtain/Maintain DoD-approved Cybersecurity Certification.
  • Please note, this is NOT a 100% virtual/remote position where work may be performed from any location in the US. This position is eligible for local telework near the duty station of the position, subject to management review and approval.

Qualifications

One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-12) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required. Specialized Experience is defined as: Performing expert analysis and evaluation of financial management procedures, policies, and regulations and serve as a staff expert and advisor to senior management; analyzing the most complex situations and/or conditions to identify deficiencies and provide corrective actions in financial policies, procedures, operations or systems; recommend and implement improvements to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of internal controls programs across financial operations. Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-12 or higher grade in Federal Service. You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.
