You will serve as a ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (NUCLEAR) in the Corporate Radiological Training Branch (Code 2360.3) of the Fleet Maintenance and Radiological Support Division (FMRSD) (Code 2360), Nuclear Engineering and Planning Department (Code 2300) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Duties
You will develop, review, and revise instructional materials for courses or occupations in accordance with instructional systems design process.
You will conduct and/or oversee evaluation and statistical analyses, training assessments, job performance, project performance, shipyard performance, safety trends, in order to determine the need and effectiveness of training programs.
You will provide engineering and technical assistance to corporate activities in areas of cleanliness, accountability, procedure preparation and standardization, materials controls, radiological controls, etc.
You will provide engineering and technical assistance concerning quality assurance matters.
Requirements

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience developing, reviewing, and revising instructional materials for courses.
Experience developing lesson plans, computer aided instructions, and training texts to support radiological monitoring, nuclear engineering and planning, and production for various departments.
Experience performing repair work on reactor plant fluid systems, components and associated structures.
Experience using mechanical engineering knowledge to perform design work to support fabrication, modification, installation, and repair of naval reactor plants as related to reactor plant fluid systems.
Experience developing and preparing technical work documents and drawings needed for repairing nuclear systems and equipment.
Experience preparing detailed requirements for radiological control and safety concerns for work being conducted.
Experience performing investigations to determine the cause of multiple failures on systems or equipment and then recommend corrective actions.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-9 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience developing, reviewing, and revising instructional materials for courses.
Experience developing lesson plans, computer aided instructions, and training texts to support radiological monitoring, nuclear engineering and planning, and production for various departments.
Experience leading/supporting engineering technical work in support of nuclear reactor/propulsion plants (e.g., overhaul and repair of Naval Nuclear Propulsion Plants);
Experience utilizing working knowledge of reactor plant materials, reactor physics, heat related to the overhaul, repair, testing of nuclear fluid and components to complete required technical tasks;
Experience resolving conflicting or controversial problems arising in connection with work performed.
