This position is located in the Small Business Administration, Office of Capital Access, Office of Financial Assistance.
Serves as a policy expert for the disaster loan program and is responsible for developing loan policies, procedures, written materials and training for Small Business Administration (SBA) regional, district, and disaster office staff.
Duties
Performs a variety of complex policy and financial analysis duties requiring a working knowledge of relevant federal regulations, commercial and disaster loan underwriting procedures and regulations.
Reviews financial accounting statements to make determinations on the general health of a business entity.
Developing policy and procedures that support onboarding and training for SBA's disaster loan program.
Represents SBA as requested by preparing and delivering training at functions with interagency, federal, state and local government and public groups interested in the program.
Provides authoritative responses to questions received from internal users and applicants.
Salary by location: This announcement reflects the GS base salary. The actual salary will be based on the selectee's location, grade, and step.

Washington, DC: $132,368 to $172,075
Santa Ana, CA: $134,766 to $175,192
Birmingham, AL: $117,302 to $152,490
Requirements
- You must be a U.S. Citizen
- You must successfully complete a background investigation.
- You may be required to serve a one-year probationary period.
Qualifications
For the GS-14: You must have at least one-year (12-months) of specialized work experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sector) in lending policy and commercial lending. Examples of specialized experience include:
Applying the concepts, principles, theories, and practices of financial analysist to determine an applicant's eligibility for a federally guaranteed loan.
Drafting written policies regarding commercial and disaster loans.
Applying working knowledge of commercial and disaster loan underwriting procedures to perform commercial loan underwriting of small loan applicants.
Reviewing financial accounting statements to make determinations on the general health of a business entity.
