You will serve as a SUPERVISORY LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the Logistics Operations Division of HEADQUARTERS US INDO-PACIFIC COMMAND.

Duties

You will manage and integrate joint and multi-national mission activities in the INDOPACOM theater according to policy and law for four four-star component commands and major supporting activities on behalf of a Geographic Combatant Command. You will develop joint goals and objectives that integrate four service components and GCC objectives. You will represent the INDOPACOM J43 and DDOC Chief and/or serves as senior representative at high-level meetings, boards, and conferences. You will direct, coordinate, and oversee work. You will advise staff regarding policies, procedures, and directives of higher-level management or headquarters. You will lead the development and publication of all mission policy related to distribution, procedures and operating instructions for the GCC, including those influencing exercise design.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-13) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate performing the following duties: 1.) Sourcing requirements to a Joint lift provider distinguishing optimal mode: Air, Surface or Maritime; 2.) Utilizing logistics IT systems; 3.) Alleviating Aerial and Sea port constraints; 4.) Recommending logistic alternates with justification/feasibility data.
