This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The incumbent will be responsible for Information Operations/Information Environment planning and developing comprehensive plans, integrate, coordinate, and synchronize Joint Concepts, Doctrine, Lessons Learned, Education/Training/Exercises (individual/staff/collective, blended learning), Joint Training Environments, and Analysis to achieve assigned missions.
Duties
As a INFORMATION OPERATIONS PLANNER at the GS-0301-13 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Creating/executing the Joint Training Environment within the Joint Event Life Cycle. Replicating and synchronizing the Information Environment and designing exercises based on exercise / training objectives and realistic operational environments.
Producing, disseminating, and coordinating appropriate planning products and documents to ensure effective training of Information Operations, Operations in the Information Environment, and application of Information as a joint function.
Coordinating with Special Technical Operations (STO), Cyberspace, Electronic Warfare, and Space SMEs in planning, organizing, and executing non kinetic activities to support key JS operational training/exercise programs.
Engaging Information Communities of Interest (COI) in advocating for joint Information Operations training and readiness. Initiating actions and coordination with OSD, Combatant Commands (CCMD), Services, and Agencies to obtain strategies, plans, policies, Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs).
Providing guidance and recommendations regarding Information Operations, Information Related Capabilities and the joint training system in reviewing strategy, policy and plans with joint force implications at the strategic and operational level, providing response to congressional queries, Inspector General (IG) assessments, and external studies.

- May be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, holidays and/or overtime.
- Work requires 40% travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial
aircraft.
Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service:
Conducting research, advising, and developing training environments for the joint force, to include developing adversary objectives, capabilities, actions, and effects within the Information Environment;
Using policies, strategies, or concepts to advance warfighter learning;
Coordinating across various organizations and information capabilities to support the integration of Operations in the Information Environment
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
