In this role, you will serve as one of three Deputies who report to the Staff Director and assist the Staff Director in overseeing critical management and core mission activities of the agency. You will advise the Staff Director on matters relating to human capital management, organizational management planning, administrative support operations, and Secretariat functions.
This is a non-bargaining unit position.
Duties
As the Deputy Staff Director for Management and Administration in this position, you will:
Participate with other senior FEC management officials in policy development and strategic planning for the Commission, in building broad consensus, and in successfully communicating and implementing these policies and plans.
Serve as the agency's Chief Human Capital Officer, providing leadership and direction to the FEC's human capital management program and serving as the first line supervisor to the Director of Human Resources.
Provide leadership and direction to the management of the administrative support operations for the FEC such as physical security, emergency preparedness, and facilities property management functions.
Provide leadership and direction to the Office of the Commission Secretary's activities, which is responsible for all administrative matters relating to official Commission meetings, votes, as well as the agency's records management program.
Advise the Commission and other senior FEC management officials on government-wide directives and guidance that impact the FEC's administrative operations and/or personnel.
Direct the assessment, development, implementation, maintenance and evaluation of Commission policy systems and operations.
Promote and foster cross-organizational team efforts to improve quality of work products and more effective utilization of human resources.
Requirements

- There is no Time-In-Grade requirement for this position since it is not covered under the General Schedule.
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirement described below. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.
Specialized Experience: You must have at least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-15 grade level in the Federal service (obtained either in the private or public sectors) that included management, coordination and/or integration of program functions involving administrative and managerial work. This experience must include activities such as: (1) administering an organization's strategic planning, human capital management, or administrative support programs; (2) managing, organizing, and planning work activities for a program or program area; (3) ensuring policies and operations conform to laws, regulations, and standards; (4) leading and supervising professional staff, either directly or through subordinate supervisors; and (5) developing and maintaining partnerships with other offices or stakeholders to promote cross-organizational team efforts.
