About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the Regional Network Enterprise Center (RNEC), Redstone Arsenal, Alabama.
Duties
Ensure that maximum effective use is made of IT tools, techniques, and methodologies in proposing, developing, and implementing IT projects.
Coordinate with subject matter experts within the RNEC, as needed, to resolve complex technical or administrative issues.
Provide support and expertise for assigned areas and maintain current knowledge of relevant hardware and software applications and technologies.
Participate in NEC programming decisions affecting long-and short-range courses of action for assigned projects.
Support the development and refinement of network control and administration processes and procedures.
Coordinate and report IT project milestones and budgets from planning through development and deployment.
Represent the RNEC Director, serve as the primary point of contact with sponsor/customer, various government agencies, and other external organizations.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Three year trial/probationary period may be required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Employees must obtain and/or sustain Information Assurance Management (IAM) Level 1certification, within 6 months of being appointed to the position.
- The incumbent of this position is expected to understand the Information Technology Information Library (ITIL) framework and integrate all actions in support of the life cycle and applicable processes.
- Business related travel up to 15% of the time may be required.
- This position may be subject to irregular working hours, on call status, and working weekends and holidays as required.
