This position is located in the Small Business Administration, Birmingham Disaster Loan Service Center in Birmingham, AL. The incumbent serves as a Deputy Center Director and serves as the full assistant to the Center Director and shares in and assists the Center Director in all phases of the Center's operating programs.
Duties
Serves as a Supervisor overseeing various teams who service loans covering a large geographic area and multiple states. Incumbent is responsible for the direction of the servicing/collection/liquidation activities on all loans assigned to the DLSC.
Responsible for and develops a comprehensive training program for the entire DLSC staff to ensure career development of assigned personnel; participates in the training of all new personnel in servicing and collection work explaining procedures, techniques and policy.
Reviews staffing requirements for the Center, justifying additional staffing as required, prepares position descriptions and performance standards. Completes performance management ratings for all positions under his/her immediate direction.
Assists and shares, with the Center Director, in the responsibility for managing and directing the daily operations of the Center with special emphasis on program effectiveness and maximum Center goal attainment.

Qualifications
GS-14: One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service, obtained in either the private or public sector administering commercial and residential loan programs, including servicing, collections, and loan liquidation procedures; and developing a subordinate staff on technical and administrative matters; and leading or supervising subordinate staff responsible for processing a high volume of loans or compatible financial services in a dynamic environment that is regional or national in scope.
