You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (CLASSIFICATION) in the CLASSIFICATION CENTER OF EXPERTISE of NAVFAC OSF. Only one vacancy is to be filled within the local commuting area of the following locations: Washington, D.C 11040001 .; Norfolk, Virginia 511686710; Jacksonville, FL 121510031 ; San Diego, CA 063260073; Port Hueneme, CA 062890111; and Silverdale, WA 532012035

Duties

You will draft position descriptions for career ladder, hard-to-fill positions. You will design classification training for human resources specialists. You will classify and draft classification evaluations for assigned classification.. You will conduct position classification reviews to ensure classification standards are interpreted uniformly throughout a workforce. You will review position classification or position management programs to ensure consistency throughout an organization.

Requirements

Qualifications

For the GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Determines Fair Labor Standard Act for positions (Exempt/Non-Exempt); 2) Provides position advisory evaluations; 3) Locates, interprets, analyzes and applies classification standards and guides; and 4) Prepares and reviews position and/or job descriptions, coordinates desk audits requests, and assists/conducts audits. For the GS-13: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties1.) Interpreting and advising on OPM position classification standards; 2.) Applying the full range of position classification and position management principles, concepts, and practices; 3.) Applying classification standards to evaluate position descriptions; and 4.) Provide guidance on position management and organizational structure.
