The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a first level supervisor, providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over nonsupervisory employees assigned to 502nd Logistics Readiness Squadron.
Duties
Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of the Customer Service Element, and the areas of Customer Services complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs.
Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Advises and provides counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management.
Represents 502 Logistics Readiness Squadron with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
Perform duties related to Processing Transactions, Research, and Integrated Logistics System-Supply (ILS-S) database administration functions.
Manages the Equipment Accountability Element and base level management responsibilities relating to Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS).

- This position is subject to provisions of the DoD Priority Placement Program
- May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours and/or Shift work may be required which may include overtime and/or irregular hours.
- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
- "This is a Supervisory Position." A 1 year supervisory probationary period is required if applicant selected has not previously met this requirement.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Administrative and Management Positions for General Supply Series, 2001.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes analyzing, evaluating and managing a supply program; supply regulations, policies, procedures, principles, and practices for managing, analyzing and evaluating a supply program; receiving, provisioning, acquiring provisions, controlling, preparing and maintaining documentations and distributing for a supply program, plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization.
OR
EDUCATION: Successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B or J.D., if related, in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as logistics or supply chain management . NOTE: You must submit copies of your official college transcripts.

COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Less than the full amount of specialized experience described in the job opportunity announcement; however, and have at least one year of progressively higher level graduate education, but have not obtained a master's or equivalent graduate degree. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of the mission, roles, functions, organizational structures, and operation of the DOD, Air Force, organizations, and supply program operations that govern, interface with, and/or influence the supply process.
2. Knowledge of governing supply regulations, procedures, and instructions in order to provide analytical interpretations and guidance to management officials and other supply specialists.
3. Knowledge of specialized methods and techniques used to analyze and evaluate complex supply problems and/or deviate for normal logistics management procedures or program requirements.
4. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.
5. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization.
6. Ability to develop or recommend new or revised local directives, policies, and implementing instructions and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
