The Branch Chief manages the operations of the Courtroom Support Branch to ensure that the branch operates efficiently. The Branch Chief makes certain staff are properly trained and supervised to fulfill the mandated obligations of providing administrative support to judicial officers in the courtroom. The Branch Chief manages and provides support to 42 Courtroom Clerks and two Supervisors.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor's degree plus five (5) years of experience in a general office, legal office, or court office setting, including experience with applicable Superior Court Rules of Criminal Procedures, which two (2) years of experience must include courtroom experience; and a minimum of two (2) years of experience as a supervisor.
Graduation from the DC Court's Management Training Program may be substituted for one (1) year of supervisory experience. You must provide documentation of your management training (i.e. copy of certificate) with your application.
Education Substitution:
A master's degree plus four (4) years of experience in a general office, legal office, or court office setting, including experience with applicable Superior Court Rules of Criminal Procedures; and a minimum of two (2) years of experience as a supervisor.
A law degree plus three (3) years of experience in a general office, legal office, or court office setting, including experience with applicable Superior Court Rules of Criminal Procedures; and a minimum of two (2) years of experience as a supervisor.
