The Deputy Clerk of the Court serves at the pleasure of and works under the general supervision of the Clerk of the Superior Court. Under the direction of the Clerk of the Court, the Deputy Clerk of the Court manages the operations and administrative activities of the Clerk of the Court Office and assist in the performance of the statutory duties of the office. The Deputy Clerk of the Court also provides management and leadership of all non-judicial functions and activities.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Law degree and a minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible administrative and leadership experience with at least five (5) years of experience in a position of substantial administrative, supervisory, or managerial responsibility in a court, legal or justice-related environment. Must be a current member of the District of Columbia Bar or must become a member within nine (9) months of appointment.
To qualify you must provide evidence of progressively responsible leadership experience that is indicative of senior executive-level management capability and directly related to the skills and abilities outlined under Court Executive Service Core Qualifications (CESCQ) listed in the how to apply section. Typically, experience of this nature will have been gained at or above the GS/JS-15 grade level in the federal/DC Court service or its equivalent in the public/private sector. Candidates must possess senior-level management and technical experience. Candidates' experience must have been at a high level of difficulty to show clearly that the candidate possesses the professional and technical, as well as program knowledge, skills, and abilities outlined under the five CESCQ. Failure to meet the basic qualification and address the CESCQ factors automatically disqualifies an applicant.
