About the Position: This position is with the United States Army Aviation Center of Excellence (USAACE), 1-13th Aviation Regiment, Fort Novosel, Alabama. Fort Novosel is located in the "Wiregrass" area in Southeast Alabama, surrounded by Enterprise, Ozark and Daleville. The geography and climate are ideal for year round military training. Recreation activities are abundant in the immediate and surrounding areas for family and fun.
Duties
Plans, develops and executes the Security Cooperation Education and Training Program for all International Military Students attending training as outlined in training regulations.
Utilizes multiple computer systems to analyze data, research issues, track students, generate reports and official correspondence, and to communicate work changes.
Manages and delegates workload as approved by International Military Student Office Chief.
Provides advice and guidance to subordinates on the application of new or changed policy and/or procedures as they relate to the International Military Student Office mission.
Receives telephone calls and greets general officers, international dignitaries, and senior DOD civilians.
Conducts academic counseling.
Independently analyzes and solves training and administrative requirements; and maintains automated student training databases.
Makes recommendations for exception to current policy and procedure; identifies and analyzes solutions to improve all existing processes and procedures involving administration and training of International Military Students.
Requirements
- A Secret clearance is required.
- Overtime work may be required.
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a valid state driver?s license to operate a 15-passenger van to transport students on/off the installation.
- Incumbent may be required to travel TDY less than 25% of the time.
- This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter.

Specialized Experience: One year or specialized experience which includes: 1. Assist in the execution of a military student program; 2. Assess, plan, develop, and/or execute administrative training requirements; 3. Analyze and resolve problems related to student training, logistics, and entitlements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
OR
Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
OR
Combination of education and experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
