Duties
Serves as the Supervisory Computer Assisted Ordering Technician in a Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) location. The primary purpose of this position is to Provide direction, guidance and supervision to the CAO technicians in order to maintain accurate perpetual inventory balance on hand (BOH) levels which in turn determines optimum ordering quantities and ensures product availability for patrons.
Position responsibilities include:
Maintain the Computer Assisted Ordering (CAO) system with current, accurate data to ensure optimal order quantities are calculated necessary to sustain customer demands.
Use radio-frequency hand-held terminals to gather data necessary to update and adjust inventory.
Records and updates Balance on Hand (BOH) data; maintains perpetual inventory and audits credits.
Perform daily inventory audits of items not-in-stock and overwrite items.
Evaluate stock levels of all CAO categories daily by physically reviewing the storage and display shelf locations, shippers and warehouse.
Interface with all levels of management and deals directly with commercial distributor/vendor stocking representatives on issues affect CAO.
Supervise CAO technicians, performs a variety of duties such as: planning and assigning work for employees; setting priorities and preparing work schedules.
Provides on-the-job training to subordinates.
Requirements

- Physical Requirements: Carrying products weighting up to 40 lbs. or more with assistance. Work may be performed in the freezer and chill boxes exposing incumbent to extremes in temperature; must be able to wear protective clothing provided.

To qualify for this position your resume and supporting documents must show that you possess (A) 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 level or equivalent to at least GS-05 under other Federal service pay systems, private sector, or military

Ensure optimal shelf space allocation for available stock

You must also meet the following requirements by the announcement closing date:
Current and former federal employees in either the competitive or excepted service and current federal employees applying under VEOA eligibility are subject to time-in-grade. You must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade level to be eligible for promotion. You must submit SF50s with your application package to verify you held the next lower grade level for at least 52 weeks. You may need to submit two (2) or more SF50s. Examples of appropriate SF 50s include Promotion, Reg WRI, and SF 50s effective more than 52 weeks ago. The next lower grade level for this position is GS-05.
Current civilian employees must have completed at least 90 days of federal civilian service since their latest non-temporary appointment from a competitive referral certificate, known as time after competitive appointment.
