About the position: This position is located at Picatinny Arsenal, NJ. The U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) Armaments Center is the Army's technology leader and largest technology developer. DEVCOM AC ensures the dominance of Army capabilities by creating, integrating and delivering technology-enabled solutions to our Soldiers. DEVCOM AC is a major subordinate command of the U.S. Army Futures Command.

Duties

Prepares reports, attends meetings and makes presentations. Provide limited technical advice to customers on routine matters, referring problems involving unfamiliar methods or techniques to higher level specialists for resolution. Determines the measure of compliance required and within responsibilities writes implementing instructions for approval. Develops and recommends new operating procedures and methods or revisions.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent to be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
  • This position has a temporary duty (TDY) or business travel requirement up to 10% of the time.
  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a three-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

Qualifications

Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience GS-09: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1.) Experience maintaining product support documentation; AND 2.) Performing duties to assist the organization's Property Book Officer; AND 3) Utilizing an automated system for managing supply and property accountability. OR successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B or J.D. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR a combination of the experience and education above. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education in excess of 36 hours (total semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at 100% to qualify. Specialized experience GS-11: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1.) Resolving issues related to supply and property accountability; 2.) Utilizing an automated system for managing supply and property accountability. AND 3.) prepares reports, attends meetings, and makes presentations for property book functions. OR, successfully completed a Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR, A combination of the experience and education above. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education in excess of 36 hours (total semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at 100% to qualify.
