About the Position: PEO Ammunition leads and manages the research, development, production, procurement and equipping of lethal armament and protective systems to provide Joint Warfighters with overmatch capabilities to defeat current and future threats world-wide.
This is a Logistics Management Specialist, NH-0346-4, position located at Picatinny, New Jersey.
Duties
Serves as the Product Support Manager (PSM) for the assigned acquisition program reporting directly to the Program Executive Officer, Program Manager, or Product Manager.
Performs an in-depth analysis of budget requests, considers unforeseen factors in development and production, shifts in project direction and emphasis and/or requests not included in planned programs and explores alternative sources of funding.
Plans, organizes, and directs the product support operations of the functional unit.
Oversees cost estimating, planning, programming, budgeting, program integration, interoperability, product support integrators and product support providers, and oversight of the product support function.
Conducts appropriate cost analyses to validate the product support strategy, including cost-benefit analyses as outlined in Office of Management and Budget Circular A-94.
Establishes the organizational structure; delegates authority and responsibility; adapts departmental policies, goals, and objectives and establishes methods of operation; establishes long range (5-10 years), intermediate and short range plans.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Selectee must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Advanced certification within 48 months of entrance on duty.
- Must file a confidential Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450 upon entering the position and annually, in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R, Joint Ethics Regulation, dated 17-Nov-2011.
- Business travel is required up to 30% of the time.
- One=year probationary period may be required.

Position may be filled as a Temporary Promotion or Reassignment by a current permanent Army employee. Temporary promotions or reassignments may be extended up to a maximum of five years and may be made permanent without further competition.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade or band is required. It is defined as one year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-03 pay band (GS-13 equivalent or higher) in the Federal Service, which includes the following: 1. Executing product support operations in areas such as organizational structure, budget, policies and regulations to achieve program goals throughout the lifecycle; 2. Controlling product support efforts associated with assigned programs; 3. Ensuring achievement of desired product support outcomes through development and implementation of appropriate product support arrangements; and 4. Projecting the cost analysis and budget of assigned projects to ensure achievement of the desired outcome.
