This vacancy is for a Financial Management Specialist located in the Department of Homeland Security, United States Coast Guard, Deputy Commandant for Operations, Office of Marine Environmental Response Policy located in Washington D.C.
Duties
The Financial Management Specialist is responsible for the management and coordination of the Office of Marine Environmental Response Policy’s budget and financial management efforts to include Budget and Spend Plan Build, Budget Execution, Financial Transfer Authorization, Funds Allocation, Financial System Modernization Solution (FSMS), and Contract Formulation and Execution.Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.

- Time-in-grade requirements must be met by closing date.
- A one year probationary period maybe required.
- Suitable for Federal employment determined by background investigation.
Qualifications
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
GS-12 - You qualify if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal, State, or Local government or equivalent public or private sector experience. Specialized experience must include:
Reviews and analyzes financial reports and accounting data; AND
Advising on financial management methods and resolution of budgetary issues; AND
Assists with developing spend plans, and funding trends; AND
Providing financial management recommendations.
NOTE: Education can/cannot be substituted for experience at this grade level.

The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees.
