About the Position: Serve as the Executive Assistant and advisor to the Directors of the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-9 (ODCS, G-9). Provides executive direction, assistance, and support for all Executive Office administrative operations to the staff and subordinate operating agencies. Provides administrative management and technical support duties in the form of calendar maintenance/scheduling, travel planning and coordination, office supply management, and timecard submission.

Duties

Provide oversight and administrative control over an array of protocol activities to include dissemination of events and executive scheduling. Execute full responsibility for maintaining the Director's daily and long-range calendars. Assist the Executive Officer by providing technical assistance and guidance to division's action officers on preparation, coordination, and administrative processing of executive office actions. Training Coordinator for Directorate. Monitor the use, replacement, and repair of the front office equipment. Analyze information and data and assesses progress of programs, projects, and taskings. Develop material for the Director?s use in preparing oral presentations or written material. Review, analyzes, and controls all Executive Office correspondence. Prepare all personal correspondence for the Director.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance for duration of employment.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing administrative support to Executive level leaders for administrative functions, such as maintaining calendars, arranging travel, preparing correspondence, and/or overseeing office supplies and equipment; developing operating procedures, policies and/or instruction in order to improve office efficiency; and using automated systems such as Microsoft Office (e.g. Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementAttention to DetailWriting Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
