The incumbent serves as a senior speechwriter in the Office of Communications (AOC), providing written communications to FAA leadership in support of the Agency's communications initiatives. Is a recognized subject matter expert in a specialized area and provides leadership for highly complex and challenging activities under the minimal direction of a manager or executive.
Duties
AOC is responsible for communicating agency policy, program information, and operational announcements to the public, news media, and FAA aviation industry stakeholders and partner organizations worldwide.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-I, FG/GS-13 level. This experience is typically related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been at least equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.Specialized experience is defined as: Experience writing, editing, researching, developing, and preparing speeches, authoritative data, original articles, correspondence, and/or various other informational materials for a variety of audiences.Experience communicating to diverse audiences, applying appropriate tone, voice, and writing style, including using industry standards such as the Elements of Style and the Associated Press StylebookExperience providing top-level executives with communications counsel to prepare speeches and presentations, some of which may be of a sensitive nature.You should include relevant examples of the specialized experience in your work history.
