About the Position: Fort Liberty is known as the "Home of the Airborne and Special Operations Forces." It is a culturally diverse area with both rural and city populations and is co-located at Fayetteville, NC. It is centrally located just hours away from the beautiful beaches of North Carolina and the scenic Blue Ridge and Smoky Mountains.
Duties
Serve as a Requirements and Acquisition Project Lead and advisor for the Air component consisting of Mobility, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR).
Advise the command on Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS), Department of Defense (DOD), HQDA, U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), COCOM and JSOC unique requirements.
Develop innovation, plans, programs, exercises, and policies which support 1st JSOAC (1st Joint Special Operations Command) mission requirements.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret (SCI) Security Clearance with Specialized Compartmented Information access.
- This position is subject to a pre-employment drug test screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.

Specialized and Other Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes developing programs and policies which support joint military mission requirements; overseeing aviation requirements analysis to identify command priorities; and developing acquisition strategies in support of aviation requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
