About the Position: You will function as an Administrative Officer with the Army Corps of Engineers, Huntington District, Executive Office, located in Huntington, WV.
Duties
Maintains calendars and schedules appointments and meetings utilizing Microsoft Outlook.
Makes travel arrangements based on general travel intentions, known preferences and in accordance with appropriate travel regulations.
Coordinates, establishes and manages the Executive Office annual budget, based on a thorough knowledge and understanding of known and anticipated requirements of the office.
Prepares a variety of reports, documents and other correspondence.
Establishes and maintains briefing and instructional materials designed to assure continuity of Executive Office operations.
Uses a variety of office automation software in support of the organization.
Responds to administrative concerns and inquiries and provides resolutions for conflicts regarding administrative policies and processes.
Develops complex administrative office procedures that affect the orderly and efficient flow of work within the district and with parties and agencies outside the organization.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. To qualify at the GS-09 grade level, you must have:
A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes interpreting management principles and practices regarding the civilian manpower levels; processing human resource personnel actions; working with Budget Analyst to develop a budget/finance program; gathering information and coordinating input pertinent to the organizational staffing plan, workforce structure, manpower levels, budget, and quality management. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07); OR
B. Education: Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree; or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; OR
C. Combination of Education and Experience: Combinations of successfully completed graduate level education in excess of the amount required for the next lower grade level may be used to qualify applicants for this position. Determine your total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level; then determine your education as a percentage of the education required for the grade the grade level; then add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal 100 percent to qualify for this position. (To compute the percentage, divide you total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify).
