This is a supervisory, non-bargaining unit position.
The salary range indicated reflects the locality pay adjustments for the Washington, D.C., Metropolitan area.
Duties
The U.S. Copyright Office, under the direction of the Register of Copyrights and Director of the Copyright Office, is responsible for administering provisions of the copyright law and other parts of Title 17 of the United States Code. Principle services of the Copyright Office include examining and registering claims to copyrights; publicly recording documents related to copyright; issuing certificates of registration and recordation; creating, maintaining, and making available a comprehensive public record of all registrations and recorded documents; administering the various statutory license provisions of the copyright law; administering mandatory deposit demands; providing basic copyright information services to the public; providing continuous technical and legal expertise on both domestic and international copyright matters, and other intellectual property matters to Congress, the executive branch, and the courts; participating in international intellectual property negotiations on behalf of the United States.
Qualifications
Applicants must have had progressively responsible experience and training sufficient in scope and quality to furnish them with an acceptable level of the following knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position without more than normal supervision.
Ability to supervise and/or lead and develop a diverse workforce.**
Ability to apply knowledge of federal financial management standards, principles, practices and techniques.**
Ability to perform financial management program analysis work.**
Knowledge of financial management functional areas.
Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships and serve as a liaison for an organization.
Ability to perform financial management work using computer systems and software applications.
Ability to communicate in writing.
Ability to communicate effectively other than in writing.
