About the Position: his announcement is being used to fill a Supervisory Human Resource Assistant (Military/Office Automation) position located at the Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) in Salt Lake City, UT
Duties
Plan the work to be accomplished by subordinates, evaluate the work performance of subordinates, and identify developmental and training needs of employees.
Coordinate between MEPS leadership, service liaisons, recruiting service counterparts, and USMEPCOM and sector operations staff to ensure enlistment processing is being performed.
Monitor operational requirements for all services.
Prepare guidance/Standard Operating Procedures and conduct necessary training.
Respond to queries from higher level management or others regarding operations processing.
Properly account for workload reported in the command's reporting system and ensure errors are corrected by the end of each duty day.
Review and implement changes in DoD, USMEPCOM, and service policies, laws and regulations that impact MEPS operations.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Position requires the skills of a qualified typist, able to utilize web-based software systems.
- Position may required the incumbent to work an occasional Saturday and/or shift work.
- Position may require routine unscheduled overtime to accommodate fluctuations in workload based on the daily mission requirements.
- Position may require to perform temporary duty (TDY) business travel occasional overnight as assigned.
- Successful completion of applicable Military Health System (MHS) GENESIS Training is required in order to access the MHS GENESIS System within 30 days of on-boarding and/or as required.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: coordinating recruiting activities/efforts among stakeholders, implementing process improvements in accordance with guidelines, conducting training to enhance operational performance, and preparing or briefing reports on operational matters.This definition of specialized experience is typical of the work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07)
.Experience required: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level in the Federal service which has equipped you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.
Specialized experience is defined as: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service which includes coordinating recruiting activities/efforts among stakeholders, implementing process improvements in accordance with guidelines, conducting training to enhance operational performance, and preparing or briefing reports on operational matters.

Education: successfully completed one and a half years (i.e., 27 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as human resources or organizational management. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
OR
Combination of Experience and Education: To qualify based on partial experience and partial education you must have specialized experience but less than one year; and have more than some graduate level education . Only education in excess of tut less than the required one and a half years is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. o compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then, divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond one year (total semester hours minus 18) by 9. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify.) This position requires a typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute (WPM) based on a 5 minute sample with 3 or fewer errors.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
