You will serve as a IT SPECIALIST (NETWORK/INFORSEC) in the Digital Analytics Infrastructure & Technology Advancement Group, Digital Network & Applications Department, Engineering Solutions Division Systems Engineering Architecture & Network Branch of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV. Duty Station: Patuxent River, MD

Duties

You will lead junior Network Administration Team members in investigating operations issues requiring case-by-case analysis and makes substantive contributions to the continuing refinements of the team's operations. You will analyze, document and convey the solutions, not only within the team but throughout the user organization. You will maintain and administer network management systems, including daily monitoring, troubleshooting and performance analysis. You will conduct announced/unannounced security site surveys/inspections to ensure/verify adherence to C and A documentation, and Cyber Security regulations, and supports the activities of external auditors. You will support the engineering, installation, configuration, security, operation, and maintenance of all equipment, and software related to the network infrastructure.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 441 level Intermediate within 12 months of appointment.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11/12 grade level or DS-04 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing technical expertise in all IT functional areas, and ability to integrate this expertise with practical knowledge of the mission, objectives, and operations. 2.) Demonstrating technical knowledge of the architecture, procurement, and processes used by the NAVAIR community for information technology. 3.) Developing and maintaining all products and services that the position will be responsible for (Network Administration). 4). Exercising delegated authority and personal judgement to lead the administration of the various network environments supported by DNA without the need for approval for standard technical recommendations. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving. 1. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
