This position is with the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Division of Education Technology School Operations, in Gallup, NM. Incumbent manages Bureau of Indian Education, Information Technology services and administration. Coordinates systems administration, network and planning, development and implementation, enhancement and maintenance of software, system applications and overall enterprise. Manage budget, to ensure staffing, services, and equipment for IT operations.
Duties
Ensures systems, networks, and data availability through the planning, analysis, development, implementation, maintenance, evaluation, and enhancement of systems operations and performance, systems requirements, and migration strategies for planned continuity of operations within and across the enterprise.
Provide managerial direction to staff, evaluating system applications, enterprise architecture and improving Information Technology (IT) operations. Coordinates organizational operations and administrative and technical oversight on enterprise IT system operations.
Coordinate policy guidance, development and implementation and decision strategies, related to legislation changes, technology improvements and IT Federal and non-Federal regulations and standards.
Advise and counsel staff, interviews, selects candidates for positions and handles personnel actions, resolves issues, complaints and handles disciplinary actions. Ensures training is provided, handles leave approvals, awards process and adheres to the provision of Equal Employment Opportunity.
Manage budget and financial resource administration to support IT program objectives and business processes. Directs cost and expense on contracts resources and long-range business operations and formulating budget and financial planning for long range IT technology operations.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Information Technology Program management, concepts and oversight of technology applications and operational support for education technology information systems. Analyze, plan, design enterprise-wide hardware and operating systems and high tier level support with physical and virtual servers, network devices and network security protocols, supporting databases, direct exchange, and integration of custom software. Facilitate capital planning and investment; and budget and/or cost analysis and acquisition strategy and services. Execute budget, monitor, and project current and future expenditures. Manage employees, track performance management, counsel, mentor and coordinate training and development and handle leave requests.
