About the Position: Provides administrative services and advice in order to meet procedural requirements pertaining to the provisions of outpatient care to the beneficiary population. Manages clinic workload. Implements and makes recommendations regarding administrative policies, procedures, and initiatives designed to provide cost effective, accessible, and quality dental care services.

Duties
Monitor all patient treatment data to assure accuracy.
Coordinate administrative activities of the clinic on matters pertaining to the delivery of dental health care to patients.
Provide clinical practice improvements and analyzes and recommends improvements in all areas of deficiency.
Use personal computer to input medical information into database.
Use graphic display software to produce written correspondence.
Ensure Corporate Dental System (CDA) data accuracy and timeliness.
Monitor scheduling process to ensure efficient patients services.
Provide supervision over employees such as Dental Assistants, Dental Hygienists, and Treatment Coordinators assigned to the Dental clinic.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position may require TDY travel up to 5%.
- This position may require the applicant to receive the seasonal influenza vaccination.
- This position is subject to a one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- This position is subject to a pre-employment drug screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service which includes 1) Coordinating, planning, and evaluating direct administration and management of dental clinic operations. 2) Managing the daily workload of the clinic and administrative function of the clinic. 3) Implementing administrative policies and procedures to provide cost effective and quality dental care services. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
OR
Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B or J.D. with a major study in hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
