About the Position: This position is with the Defense Health Agency. The incumbent will work with the Bayne-Jones Army Community Hospital located on Fort Johnson, Louisiana. The primary purpose is to coordinate patient transport services, manage referrals for specialty care appointments, collaborate with other organizations regarding lodging, facilitate air and/or ground transport, and other related duties regarding patient transport and lodging.

Duties

Facilitate the transport of patients by ground or air transportation. Assist with the monitoring documentation and authentication of contractor performance through surveillance constant interaction, e.g., one-on-one discussions, audits, telephonic communication, facsimile, e-mail and written communications. Coordinate lodging of patients for mission or medical assignment needs. Utilize automated systems to extract data and prepare reports. Monitor contractor services to ensure completion of contractor services and compliance requirements. Gather data to prepare reports on patient transport. Consult as the subject-matter expert in developing patient transport procedures. Coordinate contingency plans for patient transport.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is therefore subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations.
  • Up to 5% Business Travel may required.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Computer SkillsPlanning and EvaluatingReasoning (Clerical/Technical)Transportation GS:06: Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05). GS-07: Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
