You will serve as a ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the Technical Data Branch (Code 283) in the expanded Planning Yard (EPY) Division (Code 280) for the Chief Engineer (Code 240) in the Engineering and Planning Department (Code 200) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Duties
You will ensure the establishment of priority of work to be accomplished and the various engineering fields involved.
You will develop, review, and revise all technical documents such as selected record drawings, ship information books, technical manuals, and ship drawings.
You will liaise with engineering tech codes in order to verify all information changes that have been made are true and modify as required.
You will direct the preparation of reports, specifications, instructions, and/or advance planning data containing the result of planning determinations and supplies.
You will prepare and issue to upper level management Cost/Schedule Control System (C/SCS) graphs and reports for accurately charging Design labor charges.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience utilizing technical knowledge on the application of mechanical, electrical, and structural engineering theories, principles, methods, techniques and a practical knowledge of construction and operation of assigned ship systems.
Experience preparing test procedures and conducting system checkouts to determine the state of readiness and reliability of those systems.
Experience making decisions on ship systems and shipboard procedures.
Experience utilizing practical knowledge of construction applications, properties, operation and limitations of engineering systems, process, structures, machinery, devices, or materials.
Experience troubleshooting electronic documents and piping systems in relation to the publication process with minimal review and oversight.
Experience creating, updating, cross referencing, reviewing, and extracting content from databases.
Experience requesting supplies, tracking supply deliveries, and other minor acquisition from Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) duties by utilizing online programs.
Experience creating, reviewing, updating training based on lessons learned in order to train newly hired employees on the processes utilized.
