About the Position: Incumbent Employee processes, coordinates, validates, and ensures effective operations of one or more military personnel programs including but not limited to Enlisted Personnel Manning, Personnel Processing, Contingency Operations/Mobilization, Records Management, Information Management, etc.
Duties
Analyzes and process military personnel assignments in IPPS-A, reviews projected fill, develops manning targets, recommends personnel assignments and approves submission of requisitions.
Develops, updates, and maintains procedural and policy guidance, including distribution policy.
Reviews personnel readiness data collection for Unit Readiness Reporting.
Performs all tasks required to effectively operate specialized support offices as assigned to include Casualty Assistance Center and Soldier Support Center.
Researches and implements regulatory guidance and procedures for processing Promotions, personnel actions and Military Personnel File updates.
Employee initiates/maintains service records, coordinates and conducts Soldier Readiness Processing (SRP) Team operations, Personnel Actions, casualty, retirement, and separation services for the installation.
Performs and validates all tasks associated with personnel actions, awards and installation support programs.
Ensures and coordinates support to retiree programs such as the monthly Installation Retirement Ceremony, Retiree Activity Day, Retiree Council and other retiree assistance.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Overtime and shift work may be required on short notice to include nights, holidays, and weekends in support of related mission requirements.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) utilizing automated personnel software/systems supporting personnel functions and operations; 2) Maintaining files and records, AND 3) Reviewing documents and forms for accuracy. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
OR
Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Human Resources Management, Business or a degree similar to the position being filled. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages.
