Duties
As a IT SPECIALIST (APPSW) at the GS-2210-13/14 some of your typical work assignments may include:
This position manages a group of military, civilian, and contractor IT programmers and software developer personnel in software certification. This position is responsible for all aspects of quality control throughout the software development cycle. Responsible for certification, verification, releases and post production support of all software installed on the two information systems. This involves continual development and implementation of rigorous testing methods and procedures to evaluate the quality of the developing software project. Incumbent uses their detailed knowledge of the structure and functionality of a variety of software applications such as Oracle, C#, Appian, Dreamweaver and other Web applications to design effective integrated test scenarios and plans. Works closely with the entire software development team to ensure full knowledge of the proposed software design and that testing covers all aspects of intended functionality.

Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service:
Experience in quality assurance testing techniques and applications, executing test plans, and documenting their results.
You may qualify at the GS-14, if you fulfill the following qualifications.
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service:
Executing quality assurance on a programmatic level, fully implementing integrated end to end testing and documentation.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
In addition to meeting qualifications, your application package must reflect the applicable experience to meet the Individual Occupational Requirements for the 2210 series.
