About the Position: This position is being filled as a temporary promotion/reassignment not to exceed 5 years and may be converted to permanent without further competition.
This temporary promotion/reassignment may be terminated earlier than the NTE date at management's discretion.
Duties
Overseeing the development/training efforts within the Global Veterinary Medical Practice (GVMP) to include government, non-government, DAU, long-term, and developmental training.
Develops and maintains training programs (including presentations) and all supporting training materials.
Arranges for training execution to include venue, training materials and distribution, times, dates, etc.
Develops policy, instructions, and procedures governing the overall management of the training programs assigned.
Creates the foundation of organization Individual Development Plans (IDPs) at the management and non-management staff levels.
Monitors implementation of standardized performance rating system across the Global Veterinary Medical Fund.
Maintains requirements, policies, guidance, and best practices throughout the Army Veterinary Services, GVMP enterprise via shared technology such as SharePoint and MilSuite.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This is a term position NTE 5 years.
- A one-year trial period may be required.
- Temporary duty travel up to 5% of the time may be required.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: one year of specialized experience which includes 1) managing a training program including planning, scheduling, analyzing, and evaluating the program's effectiveness as it relates to customer requirements; 2) developing policy, instructions, and procedures governing all aspects of a comprehensive training plan; and 3) utilizing an automated database/computer system to manage the input of training related information.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of the work performed at the next lower level (GS-11).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
