About the Position: Serves as an installation training facility scheduler. Incumbent provides training resource assistance to Fort Liberty units, the Army National Guard, US Army Reserve units, and off post active duty units conducting training and testing activities and various civilian activities.
Duties
Monitors and manages the RFMSS in support of scheduling training resources.
Notify Range Operations section of special events requiring encroachment of training areas/ranges.
Advises the Range Operations Section and commanders of mobilizing units on the most efficient use of available training resources.
Monitor Range Operations for compliance with correct scheduling procedure.
Ensures directed events on the Scheduling Calendar are adequately resourced.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Employee shifts are rotated on a regularly scheduled basis.
- Due to the nature of this position, employees are required to work both planned and unscheduled overtime.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain certification in Range Safety.
- Position requires working odd on nights and weekends. Employee may be called to support Mobilization requirements. Some overnight travel may be required. Some weekend work, and work beyond normal operating hours may also be required.

One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service which includes experience enforcing range safety criteria to facilitate the execution of high risk, combat, tactical, ground and combined ground, and air training exercise and maneuvers involving personnel, aircraft, vehicles, weapons, ammunition, artillery and other hazardous explosives or similar hazardous situations in support of training activities; Reviewing operational plans to conduct pre-exercise checks, schedules and coordination; Monitoring exercises to receive and relay information affecting the continuance and execution of exercises affecting operational plans.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
