This vacancy is for a Program Manager position in the Associate Director for Demographic Programs located at the U.S. Census Bureau Headquarters in Suitland, Maryland. The Census Bureau is accessible from the Metro Rail Green Line - Suitland Station.

Duties
Represents the Assistant Director for Demographic Programs as proxy for engagements with internal and external stakeholders
Organizes and prepares high-quality meetings, memoranda and presentations for delivery by the Assistant Director to a range of internal and external audiences
Recommends and develops projects to maximize efficiency of business processes and staff while minimizing risk to survey programs
Advocates on behalf of Demographic Survey Programs to ensure agency organizations and systems are positioned to deliver on program requirements
Consults with management to plan, distribute, coordinate, and monitor work assignments of staff

Qualifications
Specialized Experience: For the GS-15, you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 in the Federal service.
Experience for this position includes: Planning, designing and producing Federal statistical data; providing management-level advocacy and support with the effect of improving business practices from both an operational productivity and/or compliance perspective; evaluating and/or participating in the development of proposed agency policies and procedures to ensure they are necessary and actionable; building and maintaining productive relationships with internal/external customers and stakeholders; and organizing and preparing high-quality meetings/presentations.
There is no education substitute for specialized experience at this grade level.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer.
