The selectee for this position will serve as a Transportation Assistant in the Travel and Orders Management Department of Commander Naval Reserve Forces Command (CNRFC) Norfolk, Virginia.

Duties

You will match all claims for payment on the Centrally Billed Accounts (CBA) through the Defense Travel System (DTS) ensuring correct information is submitted on the travel Voucher in order to expedite payment. You will be responsible for answering telephone inquiries, tracking each inquiry and directing and assisting the reservist in the proper procedures for entering orders, travel arrangements and travel voucher into the DTS Import/Export (I/E) system. You will administer and review all policy exceptions and justifications as appropriate. You will approve legality of Navy Reserve Order Writing System (NROWS) processing and approval of travel arrangements and vouchers submitted by Navy Reservists in accordance with DOD regulations, policies and standard operating procedures. You will liaison with Reserve Force Echelon IV commands to ensure travel vouchers are submitted for outstanding charges on the CBA.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience researching discrepancies in costs, ticket numbers, and unauthorized charges to determine payment of reconciled accounts. Experience utilizing transportation regulations. Experience using a travel system such as Defense Travel System (DTS). Experience reviewing transportation/shipping documentation for completeness and ensuring accuracy. Experience arranging travel involving different modes of transportation, authorizations, entitlements, etc. Experience investigating complaints or errors that require reconstructing and reconciling incomplete information.
