You will serve as a SECURITY ASSISTANT in the Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station Atlantic of NCTAMS LANT DET JAX.

Duties

You will serve as the Assistant to the Security Manager and will administer the Personnel Security Program ensuring visibility of suitability and security eligibility of individuals for entry and retention in sensitive and non-sensitive positions. You will ensure all personnel who handle classified information are appropriately cleared through coordination with the Department of Defense Consolidated Adjudication Services (DCSA CAS). You will ensure that requests for personnel security clearances are properly prepared, submitted and monitored. You will work with various NAS Jacksonville Security Officials to provide day-to-day oversight for the physical protection of sensitive or classified information, personnel, facilities, installations, or other sensitive materials. You will conduct surveys, inspections and routine analysis to identify the criticality and vulnerability of facilities. You will also serve as the Detachment's Alternate Civilian Drug Free Workplace Program (DFWP) Coordinator and will schedule pre-employment and random drug testing for members of the drug testing pool.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final TOP SECRET/SCI security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.

Qualifications

Applicants must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly relates to the work of the position to be filled. Qualifying experience would be demonstrated by: *Experience informing personnel on matters requiring clear-cut explanations of regulations and procedures; *Experience determining eligibility for and access to classified or sensitive information, granting personnel security clearances, granting access in the presence of minor derogatory information, and presenting to approving authority; *Experience utilizing security procedures and applications including Defense Information System for Security (DISS) and NAS Jacksonville system for controlling access to NAS Jacksonville by contractors, vendors, and visitors; *Experience performing effective routine personnel and physical security inspections; *Experience communicating effectively both orally and in writing to present routine, day-to-day, briefings to management officials.
