About the Position: Performs a wide variety of personnel, administrative and clerical tasks associated with the requirements and procedures of the Interactive Personnel Electronic Records Management System (iPERMS) including processing Official Military Personnel File (OMPF) for Active Army and Reserve Soldiers. Position is located at Human Resources Command (HRC), The Adjutant General Directorate (TAGD), at Fort Knox Kentucky.
Duties
Verify accuracy of information being cited and quoted in replies, regulations and directives.
Exercise tact, sound judgment, and discretion when advising and assisting the customers as to the courses of action or options available.
Perform intensive research of obsolete and occasionally obscure laws, precedents, and other regulatory material and the requirement to make judgment calls when the evidence is missing.
Work cohesively with co-workers to process official military documents into Solders OMPF via IPERMS.
Use written directives, telephone, and personally reviews interprets, and applies applicable DOD directives, Army regulations, policies, laws and precedent cases.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent must obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
- Incumbent subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- This position requires a typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute (WPM) based on a 5 minute sample with 3 or fewer errors.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
