The incumbent provides clerical and non-clinical assistance to all Virtual Care programs. These programs include Telehealth (Home Telehealth, Store Forward Telehealth, Clinical Video Telehealth), My HealtheVet (VA Blue Button, Secure Messaging), eConsults, and SCAN ECHO.
Duties
Duties Include:
Functions as a liaison between staff, patients, and the My HealtheVet program managers to identify and communicate local My HealtheVet related training needs.
Reports status/progress to senior managers of the VAIHCS through the immediate supervisor.
Serves as a My HealtheVet assistant to recruit and provide training to volunteers and staff to promote awareness of and participation in My HealtheVet, VA Blue Button, and Secure Messaging to list a few features available on the site.
Provides guidance and procedural instructions to other employees on complicated data transcribing assignments related to My HealtheVet.
Travels to various health care points of care, Veterans organizations, and outreach events to discuss My HealtheVet program objectives and promotes participation in the health care project. Explains and demonstrates how volunteers and staff are helpful in assisting Veterans to use My HealtheVet and Secure Messaging.
Travels to all five geographically separated Community Based Outpatient Clinics under the VAIHCS (Decatur, Mattoon, West Lafayette, Peoria, and Springfield) to perform duties as needed. Travel is also required in order participate in outreach events located throughout central Illinois.
Provides oral presentations with handouts and visual materials to encourage utilization of the service and anticipated benefits.
Serves as a "non-clinical" technician in Clinical Video Telehealth clinics where duties include patient check in/check out, distribution of handouts, non-clinical documentation so Veterans can upgrade accounts over V-Tel.
Represents the VAIHCS at forums, conferences, and meetings.
Assists in the development of strategies to meet measures, identifies responsible
parties, and tracks progress.
Researches background information to become knowledgeable of details associated with My HealtheVet, Secure Messaging and VA volunteer requirements. Collaborates with the My HealtheVet program manager to ensure that appropriate individuals are recruited with the proper skills and that suitable training is provided by the My HealtheVet program staff.

Qualifications

You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-4 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Clerical experience in an healthcare environment. Experience with VISTA and CPRS or relatable databases. Experience with computer software programs such as Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word to prepare presentations, briefings, reports and correspondence. Experience collecting data and entering the data into electronic spreadsheets for periodic monitoring.

Education: Must have successfully completed 4 years of education above the high school level. This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. (TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED)

Combination: Equivalent combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. (TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED)

Proficiency Requirement: Must be able to type 40 words per minute.
Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking, standing, bending, and carrying of light items such as paper, books, small parts, and small equipment. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
