You will serve as a PRODUCTION CONTROLLER (SHIPS) in the Material Management Division (Code 158), Waterfront Operations of SUPSHIP.
Duties
You will serve as a Production Controller (PC) for multiple major work categories of assigned Naval Ships repair, overhaul, and new construction projects.
You will analyze and perform reviews of construction schedules and material lead times for consistency, realism, validity and interdependency.
You will analyze and perform reviews of new construction and repair projects, and in addition the responsibility to review/analyze the Integrated Master Schedule which incorporates both planning and construction activities.
You will review proposed changes to the work package impacting material procurement for technical accuracy of documentation and make initial determination as to whether the proposed change is compensable under terms and conditions of contract.
You will conduct and participate in meetings, briefings, and conferences with upper management of both contractor and government personnel.
You will analyze and perform reviews of the contractor's multiple databases to ensure that new construction/repair production schedules and material requirements are consistent and where conflicts arise, determines potential impact on construction.

- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: performing production control functions (e.g., preparing work packages, scheduling work, coordinating material and resources) to plan and accomplish the overhaul of ship systems.
