You will serve as an ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the Public Works Business Line, Facilities Engineering and Acquisition Division of NAVFAC SOUTHWEST.

Duties

You will estimate labor and material costs to support project management objectives. You will prepare sketches in the field of existing facilities for record purposes. You will develop statements of work covering technical engineering designs or engineering changes for contracts and solicitations. You will analyze contractor's cost proposal for completeness and reasonableness. You will determine large project requirements to coordinate the development of the engineering drawings or sketches for project implementation.

Qualifications

To Qualify for GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Review as-built drawings, verifies existing conditions and develops scopes of work in sufficient detail for accomplishing the work; 2)Prepares detailed technical and performance portions and develops cost estimates for contracts and task orders portion of specifications; 3)Performs pre-award review of contractor proposals and technical questions as required by the Acquisition Branch; 4) Analyzes bids and makes recommendations for awards, price negotiations and for changes in original specifications; 5) Gathering information on scope of work, visiting job sites, and referencing industry standards and codes to determine exact requirements for work. To Qualify for GS-11: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
