You will serve as a Supervisory Firefighter of HDQTRS NDW.

Duties

You will administer training, orientation, indoctrination, and education programs for fire safety and awareness. You will lead a crew of three or more firefighters assigned to staff a pumper, aerial ladder truck, or rescue vehicle in firefighting and rescue operations. You will write reports on fire code violations observed during an inspection.

• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying principles, practices, and techniques applicable to fire protection elements involving fire prevention, aircraft, structural, ordinance and shipboard firefighting; 2) Training personnel in fire protection and prevention; and 3) Managing a hazardous materials protection and control program (i.e., knowledge of hazardous materials used; development of contingency plan; deployment of vehicles with specialized equipment, etc.). NOTE: Your answers must be supported by information in your resume. Required certifications: Fire Officer III, Fire Inspector II, Fire Instructor II, Hazardous Materials Technician, Hazardous Materials Incident Commander, Airport Firefighter and National Registry Emergency Medical Technician-Basic Paramedic (NREMT-P). Firefighter related certificates must have been awarded by DoD, IFSAC, or ProBoard to meet the certification requirement.
