Accountable for all cash held and collected. Performs duties involving the receipt and disbursement of cash items totaling over $30 million dollars a year pertaining to the operation of the Medical Center. Meets Financial indicator performance requirement of a 130% cash turnover rate as required in the Director's Performance monitors.
Duties
Duties consist of the following, but are not limited to:
All work supports the agency cash processing function involving the receipt, disbursement, examination, deposit, custody, or other clerical processing of cash items independently responsible for records or ledgers that distinguish between Treasury Department and other funds received and disbursed.
Provides training and oversight responsibilities to six other cashiers and alternate cashiers located from the west
to east coast of Florida.
Prepares receipts for various types of collections to include veterans co-payments, patient funds, general post fund donations, and employee debts.
Submits requests to the appropriate divisions to determine the disposition for certain collections.
Issue payment of cash for certain designated classes of Fiscal Vouchers such as beneficiary and employee travel, local transportation, final salary payments to employees, etc.
Prepares replenishment vouchers and the monthly accountability report for certification and subsequent reimbursement for the reimbursements.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:45am - 4:15pm

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 09/11/2023.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.

You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Cash processing function involving the receipt, disbursement, examination, deposit, custody, or other clerical processing of cash items; Prepare receipts for various types of collections; Process both cash and credit card collections; Post collection of payments to patient or employee account; Prepares reports; Hands on experience as a Cashier/Teller; Perform duties involving the receipt and disbursement of cash.
