OSD leads the design and implementation of technological processes and tools to support the many and increasing structured data needs of the Commission, including the design, creation, review, implementation, and maintenance of taxonomies, forms and processes designed to capture structured data from SEC registrants through their filings and postings as required by the SEC.

Typical duties include:
Serves as a project lead for or work independently on enterprise-wide applications or systems.
Engages with SEC users of enterprise-wide applications or systems to enhance functions.
Identifies additional data needs or reporting capabilities of enterprise-wide applications or systems.
Utilizes or tests enterprise-wide applications or systems to optimize functions and add enhancements.
Provides expertise to SEC staff in the analysis, evaluation, and determination of an efficient and effective approach for the collection, storage, and distribution of material. Analyzes files, formats, and systems to determine the best format for the material to be loaded, extracted, and viewed.
Communicates effectively, verbally and in writing for both technical and non-technical audiences, often including software demonstrations, presenting formal and informal briefing materials to SEC staff as well as others outside the SEC.
Serves as subject matter expert in the analysis of financial and economic data, such as data for public reporting companies, corporate finances, or market trading, or private funds, investment companies, or investment advisers.
Keeps abreast of trends and developments in the field of finance, economics and law related to financial institutions.

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT:
SK-14: Applicant must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS/SK-13 level, which includes all of the following:
financial market security laws and regulations, reporting compliance and related review analysis processes; structured data and process implications; and experience communicating technical information in a manner consumable by both technical and non-technical audiences.
