This position is located in the Office of Protection, Domestic Operations Directorate, Bureau of Diplomatic Security (DS), U.S. Department of State. You will coordinate staffing, logistics, operational planning, and all other elements in support of the DS protective mission.
Duties
Plans, manages, organizes, and directs activities related to accepted protection operations within their specified portfolio.
Provides subject matter expertise on a broad range of security, administrative, and resource issues related to security, protection, and/or other law enforcement issues.
Assists with long-range planning, development, and coordination or procedures; drafts standardized processes to ensure the effective and efficient execution of all operations coordination elements.
Coordinates mission planning and logistics in support of DS protective operations.
Requirements

- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.

Qualifications
Applicants must meet all the required qualification requirements described below by the closing date of this announcement.
NOTE: Applicants must meet time-in-grade and time after competitive appointment requirements, by the closing date of this announcement. Time-In-Grade Requirements: Federal applicants must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade to satisfy time-in-grade restrictions, per 5CFR 300, Subpart F.
Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience managing a broad range of security, administrative, and resource issues.
Experience ensuring operating policies and procedures are compliant with federal and industry standards.
Experience performing in a liaison capacity in the execution of a security program in order to ensure that all resources are available to carry out protective plans.
There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-13 position.
