The primary purpose of this position is: to exercise first level supervisory and managerial authorities over the Information Protection (IP) Branch in the Security Enterprise Support and Policy Division (SAF/AAZE).
Duties
Duty 1: Executes, enforces, and provides oversight of all operational, functional, and mission assurance aspects of Information
Protection programs.
Duty 2: Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
Duty 3: Established and enforces business processes to implement and analyze compliance with DAF execution of Information Protection programs.
Duty 4: Provides oversight of, and direction for, SAF-level Security Education, Training and Awareness (SETA) programs.

- This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing.
- Employee may be required to take a counterintelligence scope polygraph examination, as required for Special Access
Programs.
- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft at 25% or less of the time
- The employee may be required to work overtime
- DoD Security Fundamentals Professional Certification, and Special Program Security Certification conferrals are required within two years of established employee EOD
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-14, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes applying knowledge of planning, developing, and implementing the Personnel, Information and Industrial Security programs, to include Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) for the DAF. Expert knowledge of classification management, safeguarding classified information, transmission, destruction, hand-carrying, and special access categories for protecting classified information.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-14 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-15 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of Personnel, Information and Industrial Security, to include Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) concepts, principles, and practices to review, analyze, and resolve issues.
2. Knowledge of required security training concepts, programs, and procedures to develop security education programs, provide training, and assist in operating security programs.
3. Skill in planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating security programs to meet mission requirements and improve the security program. Skill in developing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) or metrics to represent existing standards of performance and craft recommendations to improve performance.
4. Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.
5. Ability to plan, organize work, and meet deadlines. Also possess skills to develop inspection schedules and to consolidate and compile inspection trends in a report to senior leadership.
6. Must possess exceptional writing and briefing skills.
Other Significant Facts:
Knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, and EEO regulations, practices, and procedures.
Knowledge of DOD Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) principles and techniques, and the Air Force Strategic Planning System process, as they relate to the development of Air Force long range plans and the Air Force Program Objective Memorandum.
Extensive knowledge of declassification processes; program disestablishment plans: support agreements and memorandum of agreements; evaluation criteria and processes to oversee both government activities and contracted operations s associated with Special Access Program.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
