This position serves as the administrative and clerical support for all of the services in the Imaging Department which consists of General Radiology, Computed Tomography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, and Ultrasound, to include assisting with a variety of duties such as, but not limited to, human resource administrative actions, action item processing, supply and equipment acquisition, and receptionist.
Duties
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Assist the supervisor with the full range of human resource duties to include keeping managers informed of the status of on-going personnel actions and providing advice on administrative issues of complex personnel-related problems.
Coordinate performance appraisal rating activities.
Assist in maintaining the department fee basis physician program.
Track orientation and training for department employees.
Serve as a resource for computer issues and liaison with the Office of Information and Technology.
Assist the supervisor with the overall administrative management of the service line office to include interpreting administrative policies, assisting with the development and implementation of new policies, etc.
Coordinate and organize meeting agency and minutes.
Perform a variety of front desk duties.
Schedule a variety of diagnostic imaging studies adhering to VHA Outpatient Radiology Scheduling Policy.
Issue oral contrast to Veterans for CT and ensure they receive the proper dosing instructions.
Serve as the control point clerk with budgetary responsibilities.
Purchase supplies and approved subscription services.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30 am - 4:00 pm, subject to change based on the needs of the facility.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 09/07/2023.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-06. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement.
You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-06 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.
Specialized experience:
Skilled in data collection techniques to plan, prepare, and collect data based on established metrics and associated software applications.
Problem solving skills necessary to identify issues and determine the accuracy and relevance of data.
Skilled in applying new or modified work methods, records and files and general office management.

Physical Requirements: Work is primarily sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying of light items, or driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
