Duties

You will employ clerical and administrative procedures and requirements, phone, and computer requests, standard office skills, and demonstrated ability to support a diverse team. You will prepare standard correspondence, reports and other documents ensuring proper grammar, spelling, punctuation and format, filing, pick-up and delivery of mail, duplication and/or routing of documents. You will coordinate the TPO calendar, support/coordination of team meetings, prepare/process of travel arrangements, orders, vouchers (including foreign travel), phone moves, equipment management, and maintain/order office supplies.

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the DG-03 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1. Prepares standard correspondence, reports and other documents ensuring proper grammar, spelling, punctuation and format in accordance with the Naval Correspondence Manual. 2. Supports and coordinates team meetings, prepares and processes of travel arrangements, orders, vouchers in accordance with the Joint Travel Regulations. 3. Ensures that all off-center classified correspondence/material is properly prepared for mailing. Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management website: Miscellaneous Clerk and Assistant Series 0303 (opm.gov) Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

Education

The following education may be substituted for specialized experience: 4 years of education above high school or a combination of education and experience. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience.

Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education in order for it to be credited towards qualifications (https://www.ed.gov/). Therefore, provide only the attendance and/or degrees from schools accredited by accrediting institutions recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
