You will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST in the Naval Reactors Field Laboratory Office (NRLFO) of NAVSEA HQ FIELD SUPPORT.
The incumbent of this position will serve as a security specialist in the Naval Reactors Field Laboratory Office (NRLFO) and is on permanent non-reimbursable loan to the Department of Energy.
A "Q" clearance is required for Department of Energy (DOE).

Schenectady, NY: $58,564 - $110,406
Pittsburgh, PA: $59,015 - $111,257
Duties
You will review and evaluate industrial based and prime contractors security policies and procedures.
You will evaluate performance of industrial based and prime contractor security personnel training.
You will control and protect sensitive Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program (NNPP) information and equipment.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final TOP SECRET security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the pay band BR-01 (GS-07 equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: reviewing and evaluating security policies and procedures for industrial based and prime contractors; and evaluating performance of industrial and prime contractor security personnel training, qualifications and operations.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
- successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree; -OR-
- successful completion of two full years of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a master's degree; -OR-
- obtained an LL.B. or J.D. that is related to the position being filled; -OR-
- a combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
